Step by Step
Embark on an unforgettable adventure from the city of Salta to the heart of northern Argentina: the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a mountain valley full of colour, history and culture. This guided tour takes you through the most emblematic villages of the region, combining natural landscapes with indigenous heritage and colonial architecture.
You will start the journey from Salta in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, making technical stops to rest and refuel. One of the first major stops is Purmamarca, where you can marvel at the Cerro de los Siete Colores, one of the most photographed landscapes in Argentina.
Continue on to Tilcara, home to the famous Pucará, an ancient pre-Columbian fortress perched on a hill overlooking the valley. You will then pass through Uquía, famous for its 17th century church with gold-plated altarpieces, and for the local production of ceramics.
The tour reaches its highest point at Humahuaca, almost 3,000 metres above sea level. Here you will have free time to have lunch, explore the town and visit sites such as the Independence Monument and its historic cathedral. On the way back, you'll make scenic stops in Maimará (Paleta del Pintor) and Huacalera, where you can have your photo taken at the Tropic of Capricorn.
A complete tour for those looking for an authentic immersion in the cultural and natural richness of the Argentinean northwest.
