The tour starts in the afternoon with pick-up from your hotel or from the meeting point at MaTiC (Malaysia Tourism Centre), and includes several cultural and natural stops, such as Bukit Melawati, Sri Shakti Temple and the historic Altingsburg Lighthouse. The experience culminates with a magical sunset boat ride to see the fireflies.

Discover one of Malaysia's best kept secrets with this tour of Kuala Selangor, an experience that combines history, nature and gastronomy. Just an hour and a half from Kuala Lumpur, this corner of the country is famous for its unique natural phenomenon: thousands of fireflies glowing in sync on tree branches along the river.

The adventure begins in the afternoon with pick-up from your hotel (if in the KLCC area) or from the MaTiC centre. First stop is Bukit Melawati, a historic hill with the remains of a colonial fort, a lighthouse and views of the Straits of Malacca. Here you will also have the opportunity to see friendly silvered leaf monkeys and macaques in their natural habitat.

The tour continues with a photo stop at the impressive Sri Shakti Temple, a symbol of Hindu architecture in Malaysia. You will then be taken to a local restaurant in or around Pasir Penambang for a fresh seafood menu (if you select the dinner option).

The highlight comes at dusk, with a boat ride on the Selangor River to witness the spectacular firefly 'dance of lights'. The experience lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the location chosen (such as Kuala Selangor Firefly Park, the most visited). At the end, you will return to Kuala Lumpur with the feeling of having experienced a magical night.
