Located in the heart of Singapore's Civic District, the National Gallery of Singapore offers a world-class cultural experience combining art, history and architecture. It houses more than 8,000 works and has a mission to generate a dialogue between local, regional and international art.
The museum occupies a 64,000 square metre space and is housed within the former Town Hall and High Court, carefully restored to become one of the world's leading art centres. Through its permanent and temporary exhibitions, the museum presents unique stories from Southeast Asia, showcasing both emerging and established artists.
General admission includes access to several flagship galleries, such as the UOB Southeast Asia Gallery, the Chief Justice's Office, the Level 4 Gallery and at least one open section of the DBS Singapore Gallery, currently under renovation. It also collaborates with prestigious museums such as the Centre Pompidou and the Musée d'Orsay to bring international exhibitions to the region.
The museum experience is complemented by digital tools such as Art Journey, which allows visitors to create a personalised route based on their interests.
With its inclusive, collaborative and educational approach, the National Gallery of Singapore is an ideal place for both those looking to immerse themselves in Southeast Asian culture and travellers curious about modern art from a regional and global perspective.
