Step by Step

Enjoy an exciting 11-hour tour from Vienna to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. You will meet your expert guide in Bratislava and, together with him, you will tour the main attractions of the city. Some of the places you will visit include the following:

  • Michael's Gate: one of Bratislava's historic entrances. Built in the 14th century, it is the only surviving gate of the four original entrance gates to the city. It is located in St. Michael's Square and is one of the best known symbols of Bratislava.
  • Maximilian Fountain: a baroque fountain located in the main square of Bratislava's Old Town. It was built in the 18th century in honour of the Austrian Emperor Maximilian II. The fountain consists of a statue of the emperor in the centre, surrounded by four allegorical figures representing the rivers Danube, Váh, Tisza and Ipel.
  • St. Martin's Cathedral: the largest and most famous church in Bratislava. Built in the 14th century in Gothic style, it was the coronation place of several Hungarian kings and queens. In addition to its impressive architecture, the cathedral boasts several treasures, such as the altar of St. John of Nepomuk and paintings by the German Renaissance artist Lucas Cranach the Elder.

After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the city, visit the shops and cafes, or simply stroll through the picturesque streets of the town. Be sure to visit some of the lesser-known sights, such as the Clock Tower and the Primate's Palace, where the Treaty of Bratislava was signed between Czechoslovakia and the United States.

To end the day, enjoy a scenic cruise on the Danube River on a high-speed catamaran back to Vienna. Enjoy the beautiful views of the river, Bratislava Castle and the surrounding countryside as you relax on board the catamaran.
