Step by Step

Immerse yourself in the rich and tumultuous history of Sarajevo and the Balkans on this 4-hour tour. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will have the opportunity to learn a multitude of interesting facts about the events that marked the last decade of the 20th century in this region.

Your experience will begin at the Yellow Fortress, where you will enjoy a beautiful view of Sarajevo while learning about the Siege of Sarajevo with your guide. From there, you will head to the impressive Sarajevo War Tunnel, a secret entrance that was crucial for the defence of the city during the four-year siege.

At Sniper Alley, you'll see the avenue known as the place where snipers were stationed on buildings, with the sole purpose of shooting civilians trying to cross the street in search of food, water or supplies. Although the street has been rebuilt today, its history is a reminder of the terrible events that took place during the conflict.

Another highlight of the tour will be the Trebević Vidikovac, a lookout point on Trebević Mountain, which offers one of the best panoramic views of Sarajevo. Here, you will have the opportunity to reflect on the modern history of the city while admiring its beauty from above.

You will also have the opportunity to visit the Sarajevo Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track, a key attraction on Trebević Mountain and a reminder of the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. Once the activity is over, you will be taken back to the original starting point, as it is a round trip.

Don't miss the opportunity to take this tour and gain a better understanding of the history of Sarajevo and the Balkans with an expert local guide.

The tour's deep and emotional perspective on the Bosnian War is absolutely powerful, although the tour can be a bit of a drag for those with a low tolerance for war themes.
