Step by Step

This private tour of approximately 4 hours allows you to get to know the essentials of Manaus, an Amazonian city that reached its apogee during the rubber boom. An experienced guide will accompany you through the city, telling you about its history. Transport is in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and at the time of booking you can choose between two time slots.

The tour includes an entrance ticket to the Teatro Amazonas, one of the most fascinating theatres in Latin America. The interior is very luxurious, featuring Italian marble and French glass. The ceiling has a huge frescoed dome depicting the "Rape of Europa". The rest of the itinerary touches on the following places:

  • Adolpho Lisboa Market - One of the oldest and most emblematic markets in the Amazon region, it is the perfect place to buy handicrafts (such as textiles and wood carvings) and tasty tropical fruits, such as açaí, cupuaçu, guava and caju
  • Paço da Liberdade Museum - Dedicated to the history and culture of the Manaus region. Exhibits will allow you to discover the history of the city, its economic growth during the rubber boom and the cultural influences that have helped shape the culture of this place.
  • Rio Negro Palace - A late 19th century building. Formerly the state governor's residence, its architecture blends European styles with local influences. The building is surrounded by gardens and is characterised by a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere.
  • Jeferson Peres Park - A green oasis in the heart of the city. It offers a panoramic view of the Negro River and the urban skyline of Manaus.

The tour does not include breakfast or lunch, but there is no shortage of options at lunchtime. Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended to enjoy the tour.

Marvel at the beauty and diversity of the Amazon rainforest, although the humid climate can be a little uncomfortable for some.
