Step by Step

Explore the picturesque streets of Cartagena de Indias in this private tour of approximately four hours, exclusive for you and your companions.

You will travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, accompanied by a professional guide expert in history, who will narrate the transcendental events of "La Heroica", as the city is known.

You will stroll through the essential sites and monuments of this tropical destination bathed by the waters of the Caribbean Sea, among which the following stand out:

  • Walled City: this neighbourhood was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In its entrails is the house where García Márquez lived, the Plaza de Bolívar and the church of San Pedro, among other architectural gems.
  • Convent of La Popa: at the top of the hill of La Popa is this convent, built in 1610, which currently functions as a museum. From this building you get the most impressive panoramic view of the whole city.
  • Manga neighbourhood: when visiting the Manga neighbourhood, located on a separate islet, you will see beautiful neoclassical houses and must-see structures such as the fort of San Sebastian del Pastelillo and the yacht-filled Cartagena Yacht Club.
  • Bocagrande: the neighbourhood of Bocagrande, located on the Caribbean Sea on the city's coastline, is a luxurious area of Cartagena, where the region's tallest skyscrapers and buildings have been built.
  • Plaza de Santo Domingo: one of the favourite meeting points for artists, musicians and bohemians is this square, surrounded by restaurants, bars and cafes, ideal for socialising and enjoying the cultural diversity characteristic of the region.

You will have the opportunity to appreciate the contrast between the areas that still preserve the colonial essence of yesteryear and the more modern ones, both enhanced by the beauty of the Caribbean Sea. Together, they make Cartagena de Indias one of Colombia's most attractive tourist destinations.

The excursion was quite complete, the guide was very good throughout the tour and left us very interesting facts about Cartagena. Although it was a bit tiring to walk around the city, it was worth it. Highly recommended.
