Designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, with the help of Elissa Aalto and Jean-Jacques Baruël, the Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg was completed in 1972. It is in itself an attraction and a work of architectural art. Set in a beautiful natural environment, it blends in with it thanks to its marble-clad construction and green copper roofs.
Inside this bright and exclusive building, with an area of more than 6,000 square metres, you will find more than 1,500 works of art, such as paintings, sculptures and other media, covering a wide range of naturalism, abstract art and contemporary experimental art.
Explore its five galleries and numerous small exhibition spaces, where lectures, film screenings, concerts, workshops, guided tours and other cultural activities are held.
