Step by Step

Explore the history and gastronomic tradition of Bergamo with an expert local guide on this walking tour of the Città Alta, the oldest and most picturesque part of the city. This tour is not only a tasting of dishes, but an authentic immersion in Lombard culture.

For 3.5 hours, you will discover how the flavours of the region have evolved from peasant recipes to the most refined preparations, all while strolling through medieval streets and squares full of history. The tour includes four culinary stops carefully selected to show you the diversity and richness of the local cuisine.

You will start with a typical aperitif accompanied by a Valcalepio red wine, followed by main courses such as casoncelli (a traditional stuffed pasta) or foiade. Later on, you will taste polenta with lard and cheese, one of the most emblematic dishes of the region.

As a finishing touch, you will enjoy a delicious stracciatella ice-cream, born in Bergamo, and the inevitable Italian espresso. All this while your guide tells you anecdotes and curiosities about the gastronomy, the buildings and life in the city.
