Step by Step

An off-road excursion is the perfect way to visit the Camargue Regional Nature Park, a true oasis of biodiversity in the South of France. The excursion lasts approximately 4 hours, departs from a well-accessible point in Arles and includes a stop in the village of Saintes Maries de la Mer. An expert driver/guide who knows this place inside out will be at your disposal at all times.

The Camargue is famous for its landscapes which include lagoons, salt marshes, salt marshes and sand dunes. This ecosystem is the result of the meeting of the Rhone River and the Mediterranean Sea.

The park is home to hundreds of animal species, the most famous of which are undoubtedly the Camargue horses, with their typical white or, in some cases, light grey coat. They have a powerful musculature and are known for their endurance and adaptability to the climatic conditions of the region. Pink flamingos, herons, cormorants and even bulls can be seen here.

The excursion includes a stop at Saintes Maries de la Mer, a village associated with the Marian cult. According to legend, after the death of Jesus, the three Marys - Mary Magdalene, Mary Salome and Mary of Cleophas - came by boat to this very spot. Over the years, this small village became an important pilgrimage destination. Saintes Maries de la Mer is also known for its beaches and bullfights.

I learned a lot about the history, wildlife and local life through our guide's explanations. It was exciting to see the region from a different perspective and explore places I would not have discovered on my own.
