Halloween at Disneyland Park is more than just a night of terror, it is a whole festival full of unique activities that extend over time for more than a month.
Halloween is one of the most significant events in the calendar of the most famous theme park in Europe. So much so that it goes beyond the night of October 31 and begins on October 1 until November 7. If you travel to Paris on those dates, buying tickets for Disney is more than recommended.

Enter the haunted mansion of Phantom Manor
The best thing to do to get into the Halloween atmosphere is to visit the scariest attractions after buying your Disney tickets. The haunted mansion of Phantom Manor is the most popular in terms of terror and recreates a wooden mansion from the Wild West.
Inside, ghosts and other surprises await and will try to give visitors more than one scare. The special effects and holograms are very successful and get us fully into a terrifying but fun atmosphere.
Children can enter perfectly well although there are many areas of darkness that maybe the most frightened do not enjoy so much.
Visit the scariest side of Hollywood
In the second park of the Disney complex, Walt Disney Studios, there is also room for terror. If you want to experience a horror movie-like experience after buying Disney tickets, The Hollywood Tower is the right attraction.
In the Production Courtyard area and in the midst of the typical glamour of Los Angeles is this tower that in the golden age of Hollywood was a hotel and has now fallen into disrepair and its only tenants are spirits and evil spirits.
The peculiarity of this attraction is that there is not a single route and it changes randomly. So each visitor has a different experience but always with the horror present.
Go to the Halloween Soirée party
The centerpiece event of the festival is the Halloween Soirée. Some of the attractions are kept open while hosting events unique to that night such as:
- A skeleton party hosted by none other than Goofy and his son Max.
- A show where Captain Hook will teach you how to become a pirate.
- Dance floors in different areas of the park with different styles and where you can dance with some of the Disney characters.
- A special ride called "Mickey's Halloween Surprise".
- A final show whose protagonists are some of the most famous Disney villains.

Meet the Disney villains
The Halloween festival is a unique opportunity to meet the most famous villains of the Disney world. At this time of the year they are the stars of the park and it is more common to see them. But don't worry, because off-screen they are friendlier and you will be able to take a picture with them without any problem.
In addition, the symbol of Disneyland Paris, Sleeping Beauty's castle, changes radically during the festival because of Maleficent. The wicked witch will cast a spell that will transform the castle and will guard it with the help of other villains. So, do not hesitate and buy your Disney Halloween tickets.
Collect selfies with your favorite characters
Another of the things we can do in Disney on these dates is to collect selfies with the most famous villains and characters.
To do this, the main characters of the movies will randomly come to the Studio Theater under Sleeping Beauty's castle so we can take pictures with them. There are no fixed schedules so stay tuned.
Jafar, Cruella de Vil, or Captain Hook are some of the villains you can meet.
Don't miss the special costumes
All year long we get to meet Mickey, Donald, Goofy and company but only on Halloween can we see them in their special costumes.
Taking advantage of the festival, all Disney characters will be wearing unique Halloween-themed costumes. The villains have more of a starring role, but they share it with Mickey and his friends - who doesn't want to see Mickey dressed as a witch or Goofy as a pumpkin?
The Fantasyland area is still doing the "Meet Mickey" show where you can meet Goofy, Donald, Minnie and many more. All of them in their Halloween costumes.
Enjoy a unique atmosphere thanks to the decorations
One of the main attractions of Disney's Halloween festival is its decoration. All the streets and attractions show off the typical decorative elements such as pumpkins or spider webs, but taken to the next level.
The level of detail of the Halloween decorations is overwhelming. For this reason alone, a visit to Disney during the Halloween festival is highly recommended.
In addition to the typical pumpkins and spider webs, there are special areas such as Frontierland, which is inspired by the Pixar movie Coco, which talks about the Day of the Dead.
Experience the special Halloween parade
Almost every day Disney celebrates its traditional parade with spectacular floats and dances accompanied by its most famous characters. But on Halloween the floats are transformed, they become more terrifying and their protagonists dress up according to the occasion.
The main novelty is the Sleeping Beauty dragon who comes out of his cave to participate in the parade and delights the audience by spitting flames from his mouth.
Eat special dishes in the restaurants
All the elements of the park are transformed to contribute to the Halloween atmosphere and the food in the restaurants could not be less.
Special menus are made in which drinks are changed for potions and the usual dishes give way to traditional Halloween cakes and sweets.
Disneyland Paris restaurants are also decorated with elements in keeping with the holiday. The premises of the Disney Village area, a separate area for leisure with restaurants and stores, are also adapted to the atmosphere of the rest of the park.
Buy Halloween souvenirs
To make sure your experience doesn't just stay in your memory, the park's stores also sell special Halloween souvenirs. From costumes to candy to stuffed animals and figures of your favorite characters in Halloween costumes.
The best stores to get your Halloween souvenirs are:
- Thunder Mesa Mercantile Building in Frontierland.
- And Tower Hotel Gifts at Walt Disney Studios.
Dress up as your favorite characters
During the rest of the year children can dress up as their favorite Disney characters, but not adults, as the park forbids it. But on Halloween an exception is made and adults who want to go in costume are allowed to enter.
It is a good opportunity to show off a good and terrifying costume as a family. If you lack ideas or do not have a costume, in the park stores there are many options to dress up as the Disney character of your choice. Do not waste the opportunity!
Disney's tourist flow on Halloween
In spite of the low season in Paris, the Halloween festival makes the visits to Disneyland rebound. As October 31 approaches, the number of visitors and the queues at Disneyland's best attractions increase.
In fact, Halloween itself is one of the busiest days of the year. Therefore, if you want to enjoy the atmosphere without being crowded, it is best to go at the beginning or middle of the month and during the week.
And if you want to go to the party on the 31st you should know that there is a lot of demand and all available tickets are always sold out. In the days around this date, taking into account that November 1 is a holiday in France, there is a greater influx of visitors.
Disney's Halloween prices
As these are dates with high demand, Disney prices are somewhat higher. Especially on the days closest to Halloween, hotels fill up and getting a room is more complicated and somewhat more expensive.
Tickets to the park maintain their standard rate, but the ticket for the party on the 31st is sold separately and its price starts at 89€.
What to bring in your suitcase to visit Disney on Halloween
At the end of October and the beginning of November the cold starts to arrive in Paris, so warm clothes are a must. Also, keep in mind that the park is mostly outdoors.
To walk the entire park you will have to walk a lot so wear comfortable shoes. Carrying an umbrella in your backpack just in case is never a bad idea.
And as a novelty, on Halloween day, adults are exceptionally allowed to wear costumes. So don't forget to pack your Halloween costume. I hope these tips will be useful to enjoy an experience as scary as fun at Disneyland Paris.
