Step by Step
This fully guided tour will allow you to learn about one of the most important parts of the history of Paris, namely its creation. This capital was initially founded on an island known today as the Ile de la Cité, in the heart of the city.
You will learn all about these first settlements thanks to the tour guide who will accompany you. In addition, the information will be totally reliable as the guides are always local and accredited. In this way, you can enjoy the walks around the Ile de Cité for about 3 hours that lasts the tour, and with groups of maximum 20 people.
On the other hand, not only will you get to know all this history of Paris, but you will also visit some of the most famous monuments of the capital that are located around the island. You will visit the exteriors of the Notre Dame Cathedral observing its incredible gothic style all around its architecture. You will also see the restoration and changes made to the cathedral after its fire in 2019.
Along the tour you will visit two other emblematic monuments that you will be able to access. One of them will be the Sainte Chapelle, a small chapel in which 80% of its walls are covered by stained glass. In this way, you will observe a beautiful and unforgettable view while the light enters the room. On the other hand, you will access the interior of La Conciergerie, a medieval palace but later used as a prison.
This monument is very relevant because many French nobles were arrested in their cells during the French Revolution. Among them stands out Marie Antoinette, who awaited her fate at the guillotine in a narrow cell, which you can access in this prison.
