Join this guided tour of Mykonos, where you can enjoy a walking and driving tour of the island. The tour will last approximately 4 hours, during which you will be accompanied by an expert guide, from whom you can learn about the history and culture of this ancient island off the Greek coast.
Mykonos is famous for being one of the top sun and beach destinations both in Greece and on the mainland, due to its good climate, picturesque scenery and beautiful beaches. At Kalafatis beach, known for its crystal clear waters and golden sand, you can take spectacular photos of the coastline to take back home with you.
You can also visit the village of Ano Mena, known for its traditional atmosphere and its impressive central square, which houses the church of Panagia Tourliani. This monastery, built in the 16th century, is an important religious and cultural site, inside which you can admire beautiful icons and frescoes that reflect the rich history and orthodox faith of the island.
Other places you will have the opportunity to visit along your tour of the island include the following:
- Mykonos Lighthouse: From here you can admire the beautiful views of the Aegean Sea and the Greek coastline. Situated in a strategic location on the northwest tip of the island, the lighthouse is a popular place to enjoy beautiful sunsets and take unforgettable photos.
- Kato Mili: a group of windmills that form part of the iconic landscape of Mykonos. Built in the 16th century, they were used to grind grain and are representative symbols of the island's agricultural heritage.
- Little Venice: This is a picturesque neighbourhood located in Mykonos Town. This charming little corner owes its name to its distinctive architecture, where the houses are built right on the water's edge, creating an image similar to Italian Venice.
- Paraportiani Church: This is one of Mykonos' most outstanding architectural treasures. Located in the town, this orthodox church is one of the most representative examples of Cycladic architecture, a type of architecture that is very representative of the Aegean culture of the island.
All in all, this combined walking and driving tour will allow you to experience the best of the island in a short time, enjoying its natural charms, traditional architecture and lively city life. A unique experience that will give you a complete insight into the beauty and authenticity of this beautiful Greek island.
