Step by Step
Embark on an unforgettable tour around the Danube Bend, one of the most picturesque regions of Hungary. This guided tour takes you to discover three historic towns with a wealth of culture, breathtaking scenery and traditional charm.
The first stop is Esztergom, cradle of Hungarian Christianity and former capital of the country. Here you will visit the Esztergom Basilica, the largest cathedral in Hungary, which also houses the tombs of important religious figures. From the other side of the river, already in Slovakia, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the temple.
Afterwards, you will head to Visegrád, known for its medieval citadel. From the top of the hill, you will have a breathtaking view of the Danube Valley, one of the most photographed natural landscapes in the country. You will have the option to have lunch in this enchanting setting (lunch not included).
The last stop will be in Szentendre, a small baroque town built on medieval ruins. Considered the "city of painters", it is famous for its narrow cobbled streets, colourful facades and bohemian atmosphere. After the guided tour, you will have some free time to visit its peculiar museums, such as the Margit Kovács Pottery Museum or the Marzipan Museum.
In the summer months (May to September, Thursdays to Sundays), the tour ends with a boat trip on the Danube back to Budapest, disembarking in the city centre. In winter or in case of low water levels, the return trip is by bus.
