You will start your tour in the historic centre of Florence, where you will be given some basic instructions and safety information before embarking on this exciting ride. A professional local guide will introduce you to one of the perfectly restored vintage Vespas and you will start your ride into the Tuscan hills. Hop on your gearless vintage Vespa with your helmet and follow the tour leader along the riverbank and a tree-lined avenue to a viewpoint.

On your ride into the hills of Tuscany you will pass one of the best viewpoints in Florence, Michelangelo's Square or 'Piazzale Michelangelo'. In this famous square you will see a beautiful panoramic view of the city of Florence, as well as one of the three copies of Michelangelo's David. Stop and capture the city in all its splendour and take pictures on your Vespa with beautiful views. In groups of around 10 people you will find, on one of the highest places in the city of Florence, the Basilica of 'San Miniato al Monte'. Admire this 11th century Florentine Romanesque structure while driving your vintage Vespa.

You will take more challenging roads passing through narrow lanes between castles and villas such as 'Pian dei Giullari' and 'Poggio Imperiale', an ancient grand ducal villa which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After a tour through ancient olive groves and vineyards you can enjoy a break at the Casa Chianti Classico restaurant, where you can taste traditional Italian dishes and typical local wines. From a terrace with magnificent views enjoy a delicious Italian meal with a glass of Chianti before heading back to the city.

It was my first time on a Vespa (generally motorcycle) but it was not an impediment at all. They are very safe and the places we rode were also very suitable for adventure.
