Step by Step
By choosing a bike rental you will be able to explore the city of Vesuvius moving freely and choosing the attractions that interest you the most. For added convenience, you can also take advantage of the bike delivery and pick-up service at your hotel, B&B or rental house. As a bonus, it also includes helmet and lock rental.
As in other major cities, you can combine cycling with public transport. On line 1, transport is authorised from Monday to Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 and from 20:00 until the end of the service. On Saturdays and Sundays you can cycle at any time. On the other hand, on the funicular and on line 6, it is possible to charge bicycles every day.
Although some people think that Naples is not suitable for cycling, there are several routes and attractions that are highly recommended and easily accessible. To make the most of the itinerary, here are some useful tips:
- The narrow streets of the old town are picturesque but uncomfortable for bicycles. It is best to explore them on foot.
- An easy route is the cycle path that connects Piazza Garibaldi (very close to the Central Railway Station) with the old industrial area of Bagnoli.
- If you prefer to cycle along the promenade, you can take the cycle path between Piazza Plebiscito and Mergellina. This route is also suitable for children.
- If you are travelling with children, I also recommend the Mostra d'Oltremare park. There is a 5 km trail inside the park.
- If you want to test yourself uphill, I recommend Via Tasso, Via Posillipo and Via Aniello Falcone.
- For a splendid view of the historic centre and the Bay of Naples, you can reach the Parco Virgiliano or the Real Bosco di Capodimonte.
Thanks to the free map and the advice of the renters, it will be easy to organise the ideal itinerary. I recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
