The history of Casa Rocca Piccola dates back to the 16th century, when this palace was built in Malta. It was the distinguished home of the noble Maltese De Piro family, whose history is intertwined with that of the island. Originated by the Knights of St John in 1565 after their victory over the Turkish invaders, this palace became a testament to the grandeur and prestige that the knights wanted for Valletta, rivalling European cities such as Paris and Venice.

Casa Rocca Piccola, one of two houses built by Admiral Don Pietro la Rocca, has been transformed over the years, most notably its modification in 1918 when an air raid shelter was added before World War II, which visitors can explore during their visit.

Today, Casa Rocca Piccola houses an impressive collection of art and collectibles, functioning as a House Museum that will immerse you in Malta's history. From exquisite furniture to silverware and paintings from both Malta and Europe, this house holds hundreds of magnificent objects that are intertwined with the ancestral portraits of the Marquises of Piro and the Barons of Budach. You can also enjoy its beautiful gardens, ideal for a serene and relaxing stroll.

On your visit to Casa Rocca Piccola, you can choose from various guide options to discover every detail. From printed guides, to audio guides on your mobile phone and live guided tours, the choice is yours to make sure you make the most of this unique experience.
