Step by Step

Discover all that Mexico City has to offer its visitors and take this excursion to Coyoacán and Xochimilco. Two places as traditional as they are marvellous, that will make you feel the Mexican stamp on your skin.

This guided tour, with transfer included, will take you first to Coyoacán, a popular colonial neighbourhood. Filled with cobblestone streets, grand baroque mansions and charming squares, this neighbourhood was once the seat of power after the arrival of the Spaniards.

Here you can also admire the Autonomous University of Mexico, the oldest in North America and famous for its stunning architecture. You can also choose to add to your tour a visit to Frida Kahlo's house museum, where you will be able to admire her works and enter her most intimate universe.

Your experience will continue in Xochimilco, a river network and legacy of an ancient water system built by the Aztecs. These canals are declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are a must for anyone visiting the Mexican capital.

You'll board one of the typical boats adorned with flowers, called "trajineras". You'll cruise along the canals and their artificial islands, listening to mariachis, watching local artists and, why not, enjoying the local gastronomy. A unique and complete experience through Mexican tradition in its different expressions.

Xochimilco is very touristy, but it was a lot of fun and Coyoacán was nice to walk around and had decent prices despite being very crowded.
