This excursion to the Sumidero Canyon from Tuxtla Gutierrez will take you to one of the most impressive natural wonders of Mexico. You will be accompanied by a local guide who will guide you through the park during the 8 hours of the excursion. You will get to know the canyon from a boat, visit the magical town of Chiapa de Corzo and enjoy incredible views from the different viewpoints. Transfers to and from your hotel in Tuxtla Gutierrez and lunch are included.
The tour begins with a two-hour boat ride on the Grijalva River, where you will be able to observe the canyon walls that rise more than 700 metres above sea level. During the tour, you will be able to observe the flora and fauna of the region in detail. If you look closely you will spot crocodiles, some species of monkeys and exotic birds.
After the boat ride, the tour continues with a visit to Chiapa de Corzo, a small town called Pueblo Magico. It was the first Spanish settlement in Chiapas and still maintains the original buildings with interesting colonial architecture.
After visiting the Pueblo Magico, you will go to several viewpoints in the park that are strategically located so that you can enjoy the best panoramic views of the canyon. From the viewpoints, you will be able to appreciate the magnitude and beauty of the canyon, as well as the exuberant vegetation that surrounds it.
