Step by Step
Learn about Moroccan gastronomy in this cooking class in Tangier. This is a comprehensive private experience lasting around eight hours where you'll enter the home of a local to learn how the most traditional Moroccan dishes, such as pastella and couscous, are made.
You will go to the medina of Tangier with a local guide to go to the different markets and buy the ingredients you will need to make the different dishes. For example, one of them could be tajine, which you can make with chicken. This dish is a stew made in a pot of the same name, one of the most typical things in Morocco.
Another typical thing you'll try is mint tea, which is also included in the booking, as well as traditional bread. All this is an activity in which you will be able to take the recipes home with you and repeat them.
It is worth noting that Moroccan cuisine is revered the world over for its richness and diversity of flavours. It skilfully blends influences from the country's historical heritage and unique geography, where you can discover a delicious fusion of Arab and Berber culinary traditions.
In addition to lunch, you will also have the opportunity to take a camel ride to see Tangier from a different perspective if you choose. You will climb the Cap Spartel, from where you will have fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, as well as Spain, weather permitting. You'll also see the Cave of Hercules, one of the main attractions of this Moroccan city that was once a melting pot of communities, including Spanish, English and Italian.
