Step by Step
Take an idyllic, countryside journey through the most beautiful villages of the Dutch countryside on this tour to Edam, Zaanse Schans, Marken and Volendam.
Your experience will start by bus from Amsterdam and continue through the meadows and windmills of the northern Netherlands, where you will see the most representative landscapes of the region, which you will get to know and photograph.
You will travel through meadows and fields inhabited with beautiful colonial houses and traditional windmills, some of which are 200 years old, in the Zaanse Schans. These windmills tell the living history of Holland's commercial era.
You'll skirt the canal to take in the dreamy scenes of villages such as Volendam and Edam, where the popular cheese of the same name was born. You'll have the chance to see the places where they are made and taste them along with other varieties, such as Gouda, at an exquisite cheese tasting in the places where they were created.
And to add a cultural twist to your trip, you'll attend a clog-making workshop with a master clog-maker from Volendam, who will illustrate the art of these world-famous shoes.
Passing through Marken, located further northwest, you will be dazzled by the authentic beauty of its canals, fishing harbours and farms, which contrast perfectly with its idyllic residential area, as if it were straight out of a fairytale.
You will be accompanied by a professional guide, who will tell you about the history and importance of the area known as Waterland and its roots in the traditional identity of the Netherlands.
