Step by Step
Explore one of Peru's most beautiful and breathtaking destinations by taking this excursion to Humantay Lake from Cuzco. You will experience an idyllic adventure into the bowels of the snow-capped peaks of Humantay and Salkantay, two imposing Andean mountains, 5,400 and 6,200 metres high respectively.
You will start the tour by car. The driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Cuzco to start the route to the welcoming town of Mollepata, in the province of Anta. There you will have breakfast before leaving for Soraypampa.
Once there, you will start the trekking expedition to Humantay Lake, which you can do privately, exclusively with your group, or join another small group of tourists, of 18 people maximum.
The hike will take you through the mountainous trails of this alpine snow-capped mountain, which initially covers a flat stretch. After a kilometre and a half, the steep ascent begins, which you can take on foot or on horseback if you find it too difficult to complete.
From the top of the snowy peak, you will have an incredible panoramic view of the lagoon, adorned by crystalline turquoise waters, which provide one of the most iconic postcards of the region. Meanwhile, your expert guide will narrate the legendary history of the site, a spiritual symbol of Inca culture.
In the afternoon, as you recharge with the infectious energy of Humantay Lake, you will enjoy a rich buffet lunch, with vegetarian alternatives available to choose from.
