Step by Step

A vodka tour is the perfect way to discover and taste 4 varieties of vodka and learn about the history of the Kazimierz district. As usual, the tasting offers traditional vodka, but also lemon, cherry or hazelnut vodka. The activity lasts about 2 hours and includes an expert guide - who will tell you interesting anecdotes and legends about Krakow - and a fun quiz about the spirit.

Vodka production in Poland dates back to the Middle Ages and there are old and particularly sought-after varieties. The spirit is produced mainly from potatoes, but also from rye, hops, barley or grapes. Locals tend to drink it neat and chilled, although the best varieties can be drunk at room temperature to appreciate all the nuances.

Polish vodka is perfect with sausages, pickles, smoked meats and fish dishes. Aperitifs are not included but you can take the opportunity to try these pairings. If you don't like vodka, we suggest another local liquor.

The itinerary takes place in Kazimierz, the Jewish quarter of Krakow. It became famous for hosting the filming of Schindler's List - Steven Spielberg's famous film - while nowadays it is one of the trendiest places in the city. A Unesco World Heritage Site, it is famous for its synagogues, the Galician Jewish Museum, the Corpus Christi Basilica and the numerous murals.
