Barcelona Gaudí's Casa Vicens Tickets

One of the things that makes Barcelona stand out the most is its art, specifically modernist art. This experience includes entrance to Casa Vicens, the first great architectural work of the artist Antoni Gaudí. With neo-Mudejar, Orientalist and Islamic elements, this building has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, an Asset of Cultural Interest and a Historic-Artistic Monument.

Built between 1883 and 1888, this four-storey house with a garden was commissioned by Manuel Vicens for a summer residence in the village of Gràcia. It was during Gaudí's orientalist period when he built this building and it shows the neo-Mudejar, Islamic and Nasrid elements, as well as the modernist art that the artist always reflected.

The façade of Casa Vicens is characterised not only by the floral motifs of its decorative elements, but also by the white and green ceramic tiles that attract the attention of tourists. Nature plays an important role in Casa Vicens, with representations such as the margallon leaf on the entrance railings and the Moorish carnations on the façade tiles.

It is now a house-museum, renovated and enlarged by the architect Joan B. Serra, with the permission of Gaudí himself.
