Step by Step

If you already know the Mosque or the Roman Bridge, this free tour shows you the other side of Cordoba: the Axerquia, the eastern part of the historic centre, full of history, art and tradition. Far from mass tourism, this area preserves the most genuine essence of the city.

You'll start in the Plaza de la Corredera, one of Cordoba's most iconic spaces, with an air reminiscent of Madrid's Plaza Mayor. From there, you'll enter narrow, quiet streets such as Calle La Palma and Plaza de las Tazas, places that the locals know well, but which few tourists visit.

During the walk, your guide will tell you about the history of the Fernandine churches, built after the Christian conquest of the city. You will see temples such as San Pedro, La Magdalena, San Lorenzo and Santa Marina, all of them of exceptional historical and architectural value.

You will also pass other charming spots such as the statue of the watering woman, the Cuesta del Bailío, or the famous Cristo de los Faroles, one of the most beloved images of the people of Cordoba. The whole tour is done on foot, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
