The price of tickets to the Alhambra (which includes access to the Nasrid Palaces, the Charles V Palace and the Alhambra Museum) is about 30 euros.

Even so, buying tickets at the ticket office is not the best idea. My advice is to buy tickets to the Alhambra online and in advance to avoid endless queues at the ticket office. Each day the capacity is limited and you could run the risk of running out of them.

That is why the best option is to buy online a ticket for the Alhambra will avoid the queues at the ticket office as it will give you priority access and will ensure you the entrance for the day and time you prefer.

The price of guided tours of the Alhambra varies depending on the type of tour you book and what the tour includes, for example, in Hellotickets you can find a guided tour of the Alhambra that includes access to the Generalife of about 3 hours duration from 30 euros. But beware: this tour does not include the Nasrid Palaces.

In case you are looking for a more personalized experience in your guided tour of the Alhambra you can pay around 140 euros for a more exclusive version of the guided tour for you and your group. Both include admission with priority access to all the monuments.

Guided night tour

The night views of the Alhambra from the famous Mirador de San Nicolas or any corner of the city are a spectacle in itself, but you also have the possibility to visit the monument inside at sunset. With the night guided tour you can also visit the Nasrid Palaces and enjoy more, if possible, the magic of this great complex, emblem of Islamic art in Spain. From about 60 euros.

The entrance to the Nasrid Palaces is included in the price of the Alhambra tickets and in most of the guided tours of the Alhambra, so you will not have to pay extra to access this part of the fortress.

The Alhambra is the most visited monument in Spain and the eighth wonder of the world, so there is a great demand to see it. Especially the Nasrid Palaces, the jewel of the monumental complex.

If your dream is to see the Alhambra and you have not been careful enough to buy tickets online and in advance of your travel date, you can always try your luck at the ticket office of the monument and try to get tickets there for the same day but you run the risk of running out of them due to high demand and standing in endless queues for nothing.

Due to conservation and security reasons, capacity is limited. My advice is to book your tickets to the Alhambra as far in advance as possible, as soon as you book your hotel or flight. If your trip to Granada coincides with holidays, long weekends or weekends I recommend you do it at least one or two months before your visit.

Keep in mind that the Alhambra is the most visited monument in Spain, so there is a great demand to know it both nationally and internationally.

The Alhambra in Granada is one of the most in-demand monuments in the world and, as you can imagine, it is difficult to find discounts, deals or cheap last minute tickets. However, it is not impossible to save when buying tickets for the Alhambra. Here's how you can do it!

Getting the ticket at the ticket office

One option is to try to get a single ticket at the ticket office without a guided tour for the same day of the visit. Although they are a bit cheaper I do not recommend it because the demand to see the Alhambra is very high and places are limited. It is not worth standing in endless queues at the ticket office because the tickets are usually sold out in a jiffy and your time is also gold.

Taking advantage of the reduced rate for certain collectives

There are discounts for certain groups (European Youth Card holders, EU citizens over 65, disabled people, etc.) who can buy tickets to the Alhambra at a lower price than the general public. These people must present at the ticket office a supporting document that makes them beneficiaries of the discount.

If you are one of these people remember to go with enough time in advance to the Alhambra ticket office to make this management and get your final ticket.

With the Granada Card

Another interesting alternative to save on your visit to the Alhambra is to get the Granada Card, a tourist card that will not only give you access to the Alhambra and the Generalife but also to other attractions in the city. In addition, it will also allow you to use the city bus to move comfortably between different places.

Buying the Granada Card has several advantages. On the one hand, you will save time since you will not have to wait in line at the ticket office of each monument to get your tickets. On the other hand you will save money because this tourist pass of 24, 48 or 72 hours allows you to enter the main attractions of Granada with a flat or reduced rate. In addition, it has significant discounts on other tourist services.

There is also the Granada Card for children from 2 to 11 years old that includes the same services as the adult Granada Card.

If you are a foreign traveler

In the event that during your trip to Granada you are unable to get tickets to the Alhambra, don't worry because you can always visit the free part of the Nasrid palace city and take some beautiful pictures.

Although it is the least spectacular of the monumental complex, it has some very interesting places that will catch your attention such as the Alhambra:

  • The walls.
  • The Gate of Justice, which is the most iconic of the enclosure.
  • The Plaza de los Aljibes
  • The Gate of the Chariots
  • The Palace of Charles V, which houses the museums of the Alhambra and the Museum of Fine Arts.
  • The Royal Street, the main street of the old Medina that has been maintained since medieval times.
  • The Parador de Turismo de Granada in the Alhambra, a former 15th century convent built by the Catholic Monarchs.
  • On the esplanade in front of the palace you can see the Wine Gate and even take a souvenir photo with the Albaicin in the background.

Another place you can go for free to enjoy the wonderful Alhambra is the viewpoint of San Nicolas in the Albaicin neighborhood. From there you will get the best panoramic view of the Andalusian fortress with Sierra Nevada in the background. In addition, you will have unbeatable views of the Alcazaba, the Nasrid palaces and the Generalife. Did you know that it is said that the most beautiful sunset in Spain is here?

If you are from Granada or a resident of Granada

In order to raise awareness of the historical and cultural importance of the Alhambra among the local population, the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife launched an initiative to provide free access to the monument to all Grenadians and residents of the province on weekends.

To visit the Alhambra for free, those interested must make a reservation online by filling out the form and attaching the requested supporting documentation. Another option to make a reservation is in person at the Residents' Office located in the Corral del Carbón.

The night tour was a unique experience, but it would be better if it lasted a little longer so that you could enjoy every corner more closely.
