Step by Step

With this ticket you can explore the Museum of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid. The visit will last approximately 2 to 3 hours and you will see works of art by illustrious painters such as Rubens, El Greco, Goya and Van Dyck. From the Renaissance to contemporary art, you will join a journey through the history of art.

The experience also includes entry to the Gabinete de Goya at the Calcografía Nacional. There are more than 1,500 paintings and 1,500 sculptures of Spanish, Italian and Flemish art, as well as a large number of furniture, goldsmith's objects, silverware and much more. Part of this collection belonged to the politician and nobleman Manuel Godoy.

Founded in 1752, the museum was originally conceived for activities based on painting, architecture, sculpture and engraving. In recent decades more valuable works of art have been added: photographs, sheet music, music books and manuals. You can also see exotic objects of great value: medieval Persian ceramics, Chinese terracottas and jade figurines.

In the museum you can visit the 59 rooms, distributed over 3 floors, which make up the building. There are works by great masters such as Velázquez, Murillo and Zurbarán, but perhaps the collection of Francisco de Goya is the most important: including 13 of his paintings and up to 228 copper etching plates.

The Goya Cabinet in the National Chalcography is one of the most interesting areas and you will have full access to it. Renovated with new museographic, lighting and technological criteria, here you will be able to gain an in-depth understanding of Goya's creative process thanks to explanatory videos.
