Step by Step

This private activity takes place in the Genal Valley, about 50 km from Marbella. For this via ferrata you will have all the necessary equipment (helmet, carabiners, energy dissipater, harness, etc.), snack, drinks and an experienced guide who will help you in the ascents and descents. At the end of the day you will receive a report with photos and videos.

As usual, the tour starts in Gaucín but includes a bus transfer. In total, the tour lasts approximately 4.5 hours and includes pick-up at the following locations on the Costa del Sol:

  • Atalaya Isdabe
  • Benahavís
  • Estepona
  • Marbella
  • Puerto Banús
  • San Pedro de Alcántara

A via ferrata is a mountain route that involves ascents and descents. Thanks to some elements such as suspension bridges, zip lines, spikes, etc., the route is made easier compared to mountaineering. Therefore, it is suitable even for people who are not used to climbing.

Via ferratas originated in the 19th century in Upper Austria and from there spread to Italy, especially to the Dolomites, France and Central Europe. For some years now, they have also been popular in Spain, and the Benalauría route is particularly suitable for beginners. From the summit, the view over the Genal Valley and the Guadiaro River Valley is breathtaking.

For this activity it is recommended to wear comfortable clothes and light shoes with non-slip soles. If you carry a backpack, make sure it is not bulky.
