Toledo Cathedral is an architectural jewel in the Gothic style that is well worth seeing when in the city. Its construction began in 1226 and lasted for several centuries, until it reached its current imposing structure of 120 m long and 60 m wide, making it a visual spectacle for tourists.

On this guided tour in Spanish, lasting almost two hours, you will have the opportunity to enter the millenary religious temple and contemplate its central nave, transept, side aisles and exterior, which rest between 88 columns and 72 vaults, a dreamlike setting that leaves no traveller indifferent. The entrance ticket to the church will be available for purchase on the day of the tour.

You will be accompanied by a professional guide, an expert in history, with whom you will be able to explore the five most representative stations of the place, known as the Cathedral Museums, made up of:

  • Sacristy: inside you will see frescoes and works of art by artists such as Caravaggio, Titian, Van Dick and Goya, as well as images representative of Catholicism .
  • Treasury: you will see the ostentatious pieces of gold and silver work with diamonds, gold and silver in the Treasury room, where the Processional Monstrance stands out, with another hand-held monstrance in the centre.
  • Chapter House: the inner part of this two-room hall is representative of the flamboyant Gothic and late Mudejar styles.
  • Choir: it houses the Cathedral Clergy and is made up of a low and a high choir stalls, where the seats of the archbishop, canons, racioneros and chaplains are distributed.
  • Transparent: you will see the impressive marble altarpiece with a window in its centre that allows natural light to enter and illuminates the church's tabernacle.

Another interesting area of the Catedral Primada de Toledo, as it is also known, is the imposing Capilla Mayor (Main Chapel), where you will find works and sculptures that are living traces of the Spanish Renaissance.
