This walking tour lasts approximately two and a half hours and is designed for small groups. You will meet an expert guide at a central point in Glasgow, who will take you to see the following places of interest:
- George Square: central square and heart of city life. The most iconic building is the City Chambers, the City Hall, built in the Beaux Arts style.
- University of Strathclyde: was founded in 1796 by John Anderson, Professor of Natural Philosophy, and specialised in the teaching of science.
- Cathedral: an imposing Gothic church that was begun in the 12th century. It is dedicated to the patron saint and founder of the city, St Mungo, and his remains lie in a crypt.
- Necropolis: a Victorian cemetery occupying a hill.
- High Street: the shopping street along with Buchanan Street and the Argyll Arcade.
- Gallery of Modern Art: houses a contemporary art collection with works by artists such as John Bellany and Andy Warhol, workshops and temporary exhibitions.
