Step by Step

England has towns and villages that are home to a wealth of history from the past, such as the West Country, which you will explore on this day trip. During the 10-hour tour, you'll learn about parts of history from Neolithic to medieval times. This tour departs from London and due to the almost 190 km between the points of interest, all parts of the tour are included in an air-conditioned minibus.

Throughout the tour you will be accompanied by a local tour guide who will explain all the history and interesting facts about the sights. In addition, you will be part of a small group, with a maximum of 16 people, so you will enjoy a more personalised experience.

The places you will visit are the towns of Bath, Avebury and Lacock, each representing different parts of England's history. In Bath you will see Roman baths and architecture, fully fused with the Georgian architecture that existed before the arrival of the Romans. In particular, the town gets its name from the baths it contains.

On the other hand, in Avebury you will visit a large stone circle, the largest in Europe and older than Stonehenge. At this curious location, the guide will explain the theories that exist about the reason for this construction by Neolithic inhabitants.

At Lacock, meanwhile, you will admire buildings that are much more recent in history. Specifically, you'll visit houses and buildings of former nobility where series and films such as Harry Potter, Downtown Abbey and Pride and Prejudice have been set.

The excursion is not at all heavy for children, I went with my 5 year old daughter and she had a great time.
