Discover the Harvard campus in Boston with this walking tour. Led by a local guide, this activity lasts around seventy minutes and takes place in small groups of around 15 people. You'll get to know a space that houses one of the most important universities in the world, as well as other points of interest such as the statue of John Harvard.
With an illustrated map provided at the start of the tour, you will find your way from Harvard Square to the different parts of the campus. Your guide will be one of the university' s students, giving a different perspective to the tour.
The 400-year history of the university will be narrated during this tour by the guide, who will also add a touch of humour to his stories. In addition, you will pass through several points on the campus that reflect the great legacy of the buildings.
For example, you will pass the Harvard Yard buildings. This is a grassy area enclosed by fences with twenty-seven gates. It is the oldest part of the Harvard University campus, its historic centre and its modern crossroads.
It was the Puritan clergyman John Harvard who founded Harvard University, considered the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. That's why another attraction for travellers on this tour is the large statue of John Harvard. It is famous because tourists often rub the toe of his left shoe for good luck.
