Step by Step
In this activity you will have the opportunity to visit the Everglades National Park from Fort Myers for about 10 hours. Throughout the activity, you will be accompanied by an expert guide, from whom you will learn many interesting facts about the flora and fauna that inhabit this impressive ecosystem of South Florida.
You will do the activity in small groups of no more than 9 people, which will ensure that you can enjoy the most intimate and personalised experience possible. You'll cruise through the park's marshes in search of alligators, manatees, turtles and other species .
From the water, you will be able to see the vast expanse of cypress trees that make up the Big Cypress National Reserve, which, at 2.400 square kilometres, one of the largest protected areas in the country, and relax on the bow as you watch the region's swamps, wet meadows and pine forests pass by.
At midday you will stop at Island Cafe, a coffee shop in the heart of the Everglades, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch to rest and recharge your batteries. Afterwards, you will continue on a cruise through the park's mangrove forest, the second largest in the world, looking for dolphins, Florida panthers and bald eagles, among other animals.
Near the end of the tour, you'll stop at the historic Smallwoods Store Museum, an old shop around which the commercial life of the Everglades revolved. Inside the museum you will see a collection of historical artifacts, photographs and unique exhibits that will give you a better understanding of the history and past life of the local people.
After the tour, you will return to Fort Myers, as transportation to and from your hotel is included. An ideal experience to explore one of the largest nature reserves in the United States and learn about its environment, history, flora and fauna.
