Step by Step
This quad biking tour lasts approximately one and a half hours and is designed for small groups. After meeting with an experienced guide, you will be shown how to drive this all-terrain vehicle and provided with a helmet and goggles. You will then drive through the western part of Maui, crossing trails, waterfalls and rainforests. Finally, you'll arrive at a lookout point overlooking the ocean.
The activity is done on a single quad, but if you are travelling as a couple or with a child, you can opt for a two-seater vehicle. In either case, you will follow the expert guide who knows the trails and will lead the way.
Piloting a quad bike is fairly intuitive, although there are a few tricks to keep in mind. To enjoy the experience, it is best to avoid aggressive driving, excessive movement in the saddle and keeping your feet on the ground. Another important factor is weight distribution. Don't worry, the guide knows the vehicle inside out and will give you a brief briefing before setting off.
The western part of the island is home to a mountain range covered in lush vegetation. In the local language it is known as Kahālāwai, which means the House of Water. The highest peak is an ancient volcano eroded by the elements, which over the years have created a varied landscape. The rugged terrain and lush nature are perfect for 4WD touring.
