Step by Step

This tour lasts a full day - approximately 12 hours - and is perfect for nature lovers. The destination is Olympic National Park, a protected area located in northwest Washington State between the Straits of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound.

This activity is designed for small groups - around 10 people - and includes van transportation, bottled water and all meals: light breakfast, picnic lunch and snack. A local guide will accompany you on the itinerary which usually touches on the following attractions:

  • Elwha Dam Removal Site - Until 2014, there was a dam on the Elwha River. The structure was removed because its effects on the waterway were detrimental, both in terms of overheating the water and accumulating debris.
  • Lake Crescent - Glacial in origin, it is known for its clear waters. It is a popular destination for hikers, as well as for water activities (kayaking, paddleboats and more).
  • Marymere Falls - A 90-metre waterfall that ends at Crescent Lake.
  • Salt Creek Recreation Area - This area is known for its camping areas and abundant wildlife. Whales, for example, often pass through this strait and can be spotted from the shore. In the past, it was home to a World War II military camp.

Please note that this is an all-season activity and the route is subject to change. If you are travelling to Seattle during the winter, the tour includes a snowshoe tour through the woods. Extra clothing is also available upon request.

Olympic National Park is almost an obligatory stop if you go to Seattle, it is not far away and it is beautiful to visit. Many things that the guide told us about the nature of the place I did not understand well, but he was very kind and attentive. The lunch was also very good.
