Step by Step

Explore the Perito Moreno glacier on a cruise. In this experience that lasts about eleven hours you will discover the great landscape of the Patagonian region with the glaciers as protagonists. The transfer to and from the private port of La Soledad, about 47 kilometres from El Calafate, is included and you will set sail on Lake Argentino.

In addition to sailing, you will hike through a forest and you will also have the option to walk the walkways on the Perito Moreno for an hour and a half. Lunch is also included in this reserve so you can recharge your batteries before continuing your adventure.

One of the first glaciers you will see is the Upsala Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in Los Glaciares National Park, which you will have to pay an entrance fee. You will see that this glacier is characteristic for its great blue colour, caused by the refraction of sunlight on the ice.

On the other hand, during the crossing, you will have the opportunity to go through the Spegazzini Channel and see other glaciers, such as the Seco or Peinetta. Once at Puesto de Las Vacas, you will take a walk to see what a Patagonian forest is like and have lunch to recharge your batteries for the next step.

Regarding the Perito Moreno, the star of this excursion, it should be noted that it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Argentina. What makes it attractive is its active front, which means that it keeps advancing rather than retreating like most glaciers.

You can choose to walk along the walkways for about an hour and a half. They are a series of walkways and viewpoints that offer a unique view of the Perito Moreno.

Without a doubt I dare to say that this is the best tour I have taken on my trip to Argentina. I never imagined seeing landscapes like this, I kept posting pictures.
