Step by Step

Get to know the landscape and nature of Reykjavík on this horseback riding tour. In an activity that lasts about two hours and in groups of about 30 people, you will have the opportunity to ride a gentle Icelandic horse. An instructor will accompany you during the ride and it will be up to the instructor to choose whether you will ride at beginner, intermediate or advanced level. You will also be provided with the necessary riding equipment, as well as coffee or tea when you finish.

When you meet the instructor, you will first meet the horse you will be riding. This is an Icelandic horse, which, although not very big, is very strong and hardy, and arrived in Iceland when the first Vikings arrived around 800.

After petting him and getting to know him better, you will have a few minutes with the instructor who will show you through a video the route you will take. He will assess your riding level to determine which route you will take, depending on whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced rider.

The instructor will provide you with the necessary riding equipment to be safe on the horse. This consists of a helmet, rubber boots, waterproofs and a saddle.

You will ride through magnificent moorlands, lava fields and volcanic lakes that are worth admiring. Breathe in the nature as you ride along.

Once you have finished, you will have the possibility to have a hot drink, in this case coffee or tea, to recharge your batteries.

With this booking, you will have the extra option to request a transfer to and from your hotel in Reykjavík, although you will need to do this at the time of booking.
