Specifically, the Pantheon is the best preserved temple in Rome and also contains the tomb of Raphael Sanzio, one of the great heroes of the Renaissance. Originally the Pantheon was a pagan temple, but in 608 it was converted into a Christian church and in the 20th century it housed the tombs of the kings of Italy.
On the other hand, the church of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva is of great importance as it contains the tombs of 5 Popes, including two members of the Florence Medici family.
