Step by Step
Enjoy a day trip to Mount Etna from Taormina and get to know one of Sicily's most famous and fiery volcanoes.
Travel for about an hour in a comfortable air-conditioned bus from the centre of Taormina to Mount Etna, specifically to the Rifugio Sapienza.
You will arrive in the middle of the national park with an amazing natural landscape where a local guide will show you the route to the imposing craters of Monti Silvestri .
You can then set off on a hiking route freely and at your own pace along the foothills of Mount Etna. There are different routes, so you'll have time to discover your favourites and take in the wonderful scenery they offer.
If you want to add a bonus of adventure to your excursion, you can choose the top option which includes a guided visit to the upper crater of the volcano located at about 3000 metres above sea level. You will take a cable car and then a jeep up to the craters.
In the middle of the day you can stop for a delicious local lunch at your own expense. At the end of the tour you will get back on the bus on your way to Taormina.
