Step by Step

Visit and learn about the landscape and monuments found in the lakes of Covadonga thanks to this guided tour. You will also visit the small town of Cangas de Onis during the experience. All journeys are included in the tour in an air-conditioned vehicle, so getting from one place to another will not be a problem.

A tour guide will accompany you for the whole duration of the tour, which usually takes about 10 hours, and you will be able to ask him all your questions. He will tell you about the history of the places you visit, how they were formed and the importance these landscapes have had over the years.

One of the most essential stops is the Entrelagos viewpoint. From here you have full views of the lakes of Ercina and Enol, which form the Covadonga Lakes. You will then continue on to the Basilica of Covadonga, which was built with stone quarried from the mountain on which it stands.

To see the Virgin of Covadonga, or La Santina, you will visit La Cuevona, a cave in the mountain. This is where the Virgin of the Basilica was found (and still is).

This excursion will also allow you to get to know the small town of Cangas de Onís where you will find typical Asturian dishes such as fabada, chorizo in cider or cachopo. The visit will take place during lunchtime so you can go on your own to the restaurant that catches your attention.
