Step by Step
If you're a fan of street art, this tour of Wynwood should be part of your Miami itinerary. To make the most of your time, the approximately one-hour tour takes place aboard a comfortable golf cart driven by your guide.
The vehicle seats only 5 people, so you can ask or ask the guide to stop for a moment at the places you want to photograph. Virtually every street in Wynwood is a work of art in itself.
Until not too long ago, the Wynwood neighbourhood was considered one of the most dangerous areas in Miami. Since the 1990s, however, the situation has changed and the neighbourhood has been revitalised.
Tony Goldman, a real estate entrepreneur and art developer, was the first to realise the area's potential and in 2009 he opened Wynwood Walls, the neighbourhood's premier graffiti and mural exhibition.
The golf cart tour passes through Wynwood Walls so you can take in the artwork on the wall. And it doesn't matter if you've visited the area before, as the graffiti changes approximately every six months.
Another area you'll pass through on the tour is the Graffiti Museum, a project designed to showcase the history of graffiti art and its influence on fashion, design and advertising. In this case, you'll be able to see the outdoor murals.
